Ethnic profiling is the practice of treating race or ethnicity as a basis for suspicion in policing and law enforcement, documented in both the European Union and the United States, and the Black Lives Matter movement is studied here as a case of citizens using protest and political mobilisation to challenge exactly this practice and its links to the justice system's implicit biases.
