Method Inquiry in Law

A new law rarely appears out of nowhere. Someone felt a problem, proposed a fix, tested it against facts on the ground, and only then did it become a rule everyone must follow: the same method you just studied in science, running through legislatures, courts and protest movements instead of laboratories.

Legal inquiry borrows the same logical method as scientific inquiry, a felt problem, a tentative solution, and testing against fact, but law also recognises non-formal routes to change, from litigation and legislation to organised civil disobedience.
