Domestic Violence Act — Notice, Application
A woman in Kharghar leaves her husband's flat at night after an assault and asks her brother what she can do that is faster than a divorce case and does not depend on a police investigation. The answer is a short application to a magistrate under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005. The magistrate is told to fix the first hearing within about three days. What does that application need to contain, who serves notice on the husband, and what relief can she ask for?
