Para legal training and legal literacy
Most people who need a lawyer never meet one. A domestic worker does not know she can claim wages, a farmer does not know a notice can be answered, and a slum resident does not know there is a free-legal-aid office at the taluka court. The gap is not money alone; it is information. The Legal Services Authorities Act tries to close it with legal literacy, legal aid camps and training for people who are not lawyers but can carry the law to the gate. As a law student you are expected to take part, which is why this topic sits in a practical paper.
In two minutes
The Act makes legal literacy, legal awareness, camps and training of social workers in legal skills functions of the Central Authority, and links law colleges to the work through legal services clinics and clinical legal education; the detailed para-legal schemes are framed under the Act and are not spelled out in its text.
