Fast track CIRP
Every Mumbai commuter knows the difference between the slow local and the fast local: same line, fewer stops. Fast track CIRP was meant to be exactly that, a shorter version of the corporate insolvency resolution process for debtors that did not need the full journey. Your syllabus still lists it, and older textbooks and notes still teach it. But the current India Code text of the Code shows that the chapter has been taken out. This topic tells you what that means, what has replaced the fast local, and how to answer a question on it without losing marks.
In two minutes
Fast track CIRP was a shortened form of the corporate insolvency resolution process, found in Chapter IV of Part II of the Code; the current India Code text shows that chapter as omitted by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (Amendment) Act, 2026 with effect from 26 May 2026, so today’s speed-focused routes are the ordinary CIRP clock in section 12 and the pre-packaged process in Chapter III-A.
